    Closed or moved

Markets many guides still list as open. Each line has its date and source; none has a page here.

    Cash or QR

Bring cash in small notes. Most stalls take cash and Thai QR (PromptPay); paying by Thai QR needs a Thai bank app, so for most visitors cash is the answer.

Foreign cards are rarely taken at stalls (review-based); some larger shops at Asiatique take cards with a surcharge.

No beer is sold inside the markets on alcohol ban days (site owner’s observation, 29 October 2026). Alcohol ban days calendar

    Questions

Which Bangkok night markets are open on Monday?
Jodd Fairs (Ratchada), Asiatique, SW1 Market and Patpong usually open every day, Monday included; Chinatown is open but some stalls may rest, and Banthat Thong’s shops keep their own days. Chatuchak is closed on Monday. All markets by day
    Is Jodd Fairs still open?
Yes, at Ratchada only (checked 29 October 2026). Jodd Fairs Rama 9 closed and was demolished in January 2025; the DanNeramit site became Liab Duan DanNeramit in 2025.
Is the Train Night Market Ratchada open?
No. It reopened in 2026 and has closed again: its Google Maps listing is marked closed and most recent reviews say so (site owner, 29 October 2026). Jodd Fairs is at the same MRT station.
Can I pay by card at Bangkok night markets?
Rarely at stalls. Bring cash; Thai QR payments need a Thai bank app.

    Outside Bangkok

Amphawa Floating Market in Samut Songkhram is an evening market too, Friday to Sunday from 15:00 to 22:00 (review-based), usually joined to the Maeklong train on a day trip.

    BEFORE YOU GO

    Before you go

    1. Cash in small notes

Stalls take cash and Thai QR; Thai QR needs a Thai bank app.

    2. Check the last train

Markets that close at midnight or later outlast the MRT; the ride back is then by Grab or Bolt.

    3. Alcohol ban days

No beer is sold inside the markets on ban days (site owner’s observation).
